Streaming service Dekkoo is launching an LGBTQ short-film challenge in which creators could win a cut of $10,000 in prizes, a press release announced.
Interested persons should shoot and submit a short film ( maximum length: five minutes ) telling a queer story that deals with the theme of love and distance.
The winner will receive a cash award of $2,500 and the opportunity to direct a Dekkoo-original short film with a production budget of $5,000 ( Jury Award ); also, the four films that receive the most comments on that film's page on will win $1,000 each ( Audience Awards ).
All submissions are due no later than Sunday, May 10, at 11:59 p.m. ET. Voting will be tallied through Monday, May 18, and winners will be announced Wed, May 20.
